How do I add our church's postcode and map pin?

Who can do this: Admins.

Admins can add a postcode to each church. Pewbook uses it to put the church on the map, so your public page can show a Directions link under the church’s address.

Add a postcode

  1. Go to Churches.
  2. Tap Edit next to the church (or fill in the form to add a new one).
  3. Type the church’s Postcode, for example SN1 3HU.
  4. Tap Save changes (or Add church).

Pewbook looks the postcode up and places a pin. If it can’t find the postcode, it still saves the church and says “We couldn’t find that postcode, so there’s no map pin yet.” Check the postcode and save again.

Move the pin to the right door

The pin goes in the middle of the postcode area, which isn’t always the church’s front door.

  1. Go to Churches and tap Edit next to the church.
  2. A small map shows the pin. Drag the pin to the right place.

The new place saves as soon as you let go of the pin.

What people see

On your public page, each church with a pin has a Directions link that opens Google Maps (or the phone’s maps app), and a smaller (OpenStreetMap) link. The page doesn’t show a map itself: nothing is sent to a map service until someone taps a link.

To take a church off the map, clear its Postcode and save.
