Clergy and admins can do this. Go to Newsletter in the menu. Pewbook builds the newsletter from your service times and your notices, so you only type what is new.
Make this week’s newsletter
- Choose the week with This week, Next week, or the ‹ and › buttons. The dates show underneath.
- Type a title under This week’s title, then tap Save title.
- Check the Notices (see below).
- Read the newsletter shown underneath the buttons.
- Tap Print, or Copy text and paste it into Word, an email or a message. Or tap Publish.
Notices
A notice appears every week from its first week until it runs out, so you only type it once.
- Tap Add a notice.
- Fill in Title and Text.
- Choose First week it shows and Runs until: This week only, 4 weeks, Until a date… or Until further notice.
- Tap Save notice.
Each notice has Edit, Move up, Move down and Remove. Removing a notice keeps it in newsletters you have already published.
Publish
Publish keeps a copy of the week as it went out. Later changes are not in that copy until you tap Publish again. If your parish has switched on Put published newsletters on our parish page, the newsletter also appears on your public page.
If your parish uses Mass intentions, the services table has an Intention column for your own copy. Private intentions show as “Private intention”. Intentions are never on the public page.
Change the layout
Admins can open Change the layout. It stays the same every week. You can choose which day the week starts (Saturday, Sunday or Monday), write a Masthead and Closing text, and change what a cancelled service says. You can also add next Sunday’s services, and switch sections on or off and move them with the arrows. Tap Save layout.
Change how it looks
At the top of Change the layout, admins can choose a Style: Classic (roomy A4 pages), Compact (one dense A4 page, notices in two columns) or Booklet (A5 pages, each section in a box). Open Fine-tune to change one thing at a time, such as the text size, the fonts or a colour for the headings. Tap Save layout.
Or upload last week’s newsletter as a PDF or photo under Or match your current newsletter, and Pewbook suggests a style to match. Using Word? Choose File → Save As → PDF first. You see the change side by side, untick anything you don’t want, then tap Apply.
To print an A5 booklet, choose Booklet in your printer’s settings when you print. It arranges the pages so you can fold them into a booklet.
