These terms are the agreement between Pewbook and the parish or organisation that uses it. They're written to be read. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
1. Who we are, and who you are
Pewbook is run by Lewis Cummins, trading as Pewbook, a sole trader in England. Our postal address is 33 Appleyard Close, Cheltenham, GL51 9FF. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Pewbook.
"You", the customer, means the parish, group of parishes or other organisation that uses Pewbook. The person who sets up the account agrees to these terms on its behalf, and confirms they're allowed to.
2. The service and what it costs
Pewbook's core is free: a public page for your organisation, your churches and their service times, staff logins and help. Some features are paid modules, at the prices shown on our prices page.
- Paid modules start with a free trial, as shown on the prices page. No card is needed for the trial.
- After the trial, you pay monthly or yearly, in advance. You can cancel any time.
- If you cancel, you keep the paid module until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part periods.
- Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We don't charge VAT, because Pewbook isn't VAT-registered.
3. Your part
- Give us accurate information about your organisation, and keep it up to date.
- Give staff logins only to people on your own team, and remove them when they leave.
- Use Pewbook lawfully, including data protection law, and only for your own organisation.
- Don't pretend to be another parish or organisation. If an account looks like it's impersonating someone, we may suspend it while we check.
4. Offerings and other money
Mass offerings and any other money parishioners give go to your parish, not to Pewbook. We aren't a party to them, we don't handle them, and we never take a share.
5. Your data
Your organisation's records belong to you. For the personal data in them, you are the controller and we are your processor. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms. You can ask us for an export of your data at any time.
6. Keeping Pewbook running
We aim to keep Pewbook working well and available, but we can't promise it will never be down or never have a fault. We'll tell you by email before any planned change that affects how you use it.
7. If something goes wrong
Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem. For the free core, that's nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
8. Ending
- You can stop using Pewbook at any time. Email us to close your account.
- We can end the service for you with 30 days' notice by email, or straight away for serious misuse.
- When an account ends, we keep your data for 30 days so you can export it, then delete it.
- Some records your parish must keep, such as the Mass intentions register. Before deleting anything, we hand those over to you.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.
