Take Mass intentions online
For Catholic parishes, Pewbook’s Mass intentions module lets parishioners ask for a Mass from their phone or computer, without an account. The office records the offering when it arrives, as cash or a bank transfer, and every confirmed intention goes in a register you can print.
Get your parish startedHow it works
Set your parish’s rules
Choose how much notice you need, how far ahead people can ask, the suggested offering and how to give it, and which services don’t take intentions.
A parishioner asks online
They pick a Mass marked Available, say who it’s for, and confirm with a link we email them. No account, and they never see anyone else’s intention.
The offering comes in
Each request gets a reference like MASS-7K3Q. It goes on the envelope, or in the bank transfer, and the request waits as pending until you have it.
The office confirms it
Find the request by its reference, enter the amount and how it was given, and tap Confirm. The parishioner is emailed, and the intention goes in the register.
It’s in the register and the newsletter
The week’s intentions fill their column in your newsletter. Anything marked “don’t publish” shows only as a private intention.
What you get
A register you can print
Every confirmed intention with its offering, for any dates and church. Print it on A4 or download it for a spreadsheet.
A record of every change
Confirmed entries are never silently changed or deleted. Each confirm, move and decline is recorded, with who did it and when.
Cash, cheque or bank transfer
Record the offering however it arrives. Add your bank details and people are shown them after they ask, with their reference.
Standing intentions
Reserve a place for “People of the Parish” or “Holy Souls”, at one Mass or every week at a regular service.
Move or decline, with an email
Move a request to another Mass, or decline it with a reason. The parishioner is told either way.
Private by default
Your parish page shows only whether a Mass is available or taken, never what an intention is for.
What it costs
Mass intentions is a paid feature, with a free trial. Your churches, service times, parish page and newsletter are free. See prices.
Questions
Do parishioners need an account?
No. They give their name and email address, and click a link we email them to confirm the request is really theirs. A phone number is optional.
What about cash?
Cash is fine. Nobody pays when they ask: the request waits as pending until the office records the offering, in cash, by cheque, by bank transfer or another way. Pewbook never holds or moves money.
Can I print the register?
Yes. Choose the dates and church, then print it on A4 landscape, or download it as a CSV file for a spreadsheet. Cancelled intentions can be shown crossed out, with the reason.
Can we take intentions by phone or at the door too?
Yes. An admin can add an intention for someone who calls or walks in, with the offering they gave, and it goes in the same register.
Is our parishioners’ data safe?
Intentions are never shown on your public pages, and a parishioner can ask for theirs to stay out of the newsletter. Their email address and phone number are deleted 12 months after the Mass. Your records are kept in a database in the UK or EU.
